Russ and Micheala's Wedding

Russel and Micheala were married Thursday morning in the Mt. Timpanogas Temple. Scott went into the sealing while I stayed with the kids. I tried to get a cute picture of the kids while we were waiting, but sometimes that is just impossible.
Emma had no idea she was totally being a angel
The cute couple
I wanted to take more cute pics, but I actually started not feeling so well while we were at the temple. It was a very nice day. The luncheon was wonderful and the reception was beautiful. Saddly I didn't feel so well all day and by the time we were at the reception I was runing a fever of 102 and by the next morning it was 104. I was sick in bed Friday and Saturday. By Sunday I was able to get out of bed.
I like this pic.

Wedding Cake

I decorated the cake for the reception. They gave me the cake, the ribbon, the flowers, and a picture of what they wanted and all I had to do was roll out some fondant. You can't tell in the picture, but the fondant sparkles.
Just for fun I wanted to throw in a few pics of some of my favorite cakes. Including: Emma's Mommy Birthday Cake, Alan's Diego Birthday Cake, and the cake I made for Ludy's Baby Shower.

Emma's First Day of School

Tuesday Morning I loaded the kids into the stroller and walk Emma to her first day at her new preschool. She loved it and did really well. She has always been so great at making friends and doing well in new places. At her new school she starts out in the large motor skills room (or park as Emma and Alan call it), then she goes to home room, the art room, computer lab, and science lab, and then she ends up in the park again at the end of the day. It also ended up being Alan first day of school. They let kids take a free class just to try it out and even though Alan is not even 2 and 1/2 yet they let him sit in on the 3 year old class. They have one way mirrors in all the rooms so parents can stay and watch, so I stayed to see how Alan would do. He did so well and we considered letting him start school, but I do think I am ready to put him in school yet even if he is. Party in the Jungle

After moving on Thursday and with all we had been doing, by Saturday we were ready for a break from boxes. So when Guy and Kristen called asking if we wanted to get together we were excited to have some fun. We met up with Guy, Kristin, Adam, Dan, Ludy, Thomas, and the Doug Leavitts at Jungle Jim's in Salt Lake. It was so much fun. Emma and Alan LOVED going on all the rides. I think Scott LOVED the rides too, as you can see in the pictures. It was a great escape from all of the boxes, and it was great to spend a little more time with Guy and Kristin while they were in town.
By way of explanation, that is Alan and Adam driving the green jeep together. They have always looked a lot alike, but you can especially see it in that picture.

Like Father, Like Son

I came upstairs this morning to find Scott and Logan asleep in our bed sharing Scott's pillow. Logi is so much like his Daddy, as you can see.

Moving Day

First, I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped us move, and to the Leonards and everyone else who was over there in their home for such a wonderful dinner before our move.

Well, for the next year or so, we'll be in Pleasant Grove!

Hilton Reunion 2008

We kicked off the reunion with burgers in Grandpa and Grandma's back yard. It was so fun to see everyone and it was especially great that Grandpa was feeling up to having dinner at their place.
We all sat around eating and talking, while the kids ran around swinging.

Logan had a lot of fun, he is very social as long as the right person is holding him.

Alan getting help off the rock from Grandpa

Alan LOVES to swing "super high."

We enjoyed watching a few very funny skits. Logan loved to clap for them.
After the skits we all went home to prepare for Pineview the next day.

We met up with everyone at Pineview Reservoir early Friday afternoon. Scott, Dean, Becky, Daniel, Tim, the kids, and I took the boat out for a while when we first got there (the boat in the pic). We had a "tube" on the back of the boat, and almost everyone took a turn on it (everyone except Logan and me). I was so proud of Emma when she wanted to go out on the tube with Scott, I just wish that I had brought the camera out on the boat. Once Alan saw Emma out on the tube with Daddy, of course he had to give it a try. He was so cute out there. He told Scott "I'm having fun now."

Once we got back from our boat ride we spent a little time playing in the water.

Logan, who had fallen asleep on the boat, stayed in the shade with Grandma so I could go play in the water. He is getting a lot better about going to people.

Alan had just stuck his face in the water. Silly kid.

Throwing mud balls

Once we were done swimming we finally got Alan to eats some lunch. After we were all done eating, we all headed off to Grandpa's cabin. At the cabin we hung out and enjoyed writing limericks about each other, one line at a time.

The next day after a very yummy breakfast we took the kids on a little walk. We actually saw 2 deer.

Emma loved "taking pictures" just like Mommy

Just before lunch we played water-balloon volleyball.

Alan helping Grandpa make more volleyballs

After volleyball, the kids had a ball while playing with the leftover water balloons

After lunch we all cleaned up, said our goodbyes, and headed home. It was yet another wonderful Hilton Reunion. It was so wonderful that so many of us could get together.

Family Portraits

On Wednesday night we all met at the Layton Park to take a current family picture while we all live in Davis county. Scott, the kids, and I move to Pleasant Grove in about a week, Eric moves to Provo by the end of the month, and Dean, Andrea, and Tanner are moving to Pennsylvania. Dean leaves on the 16th and Andrea and Tanner will join him later this month. Considering the fact that we took them ourselves and how HOT it was. I think they turned out very nice.

I really love this one

Water Party

Tuesday morning I took the kids to a water party at the church. Emma and Alan had a lot of fun. Can you spot them in the picture?

Family Home Evening

Tonight for FHE we watched "The Miracles of Jesus" movie from The Animated Stories From the New Testament. There is a part where Jesus and his apostles are in a boat and Jesus calms the storm. Jesus asks "Why were you afraid? Where is your faith?" Then Alan said to Scott "They lost their faith." (while making a very Alan boy serious kinda face). It was cute. Then after the movie Emma and Alan pretended to to Jesus walking on the water. Even with as silly and crazy as the kids are during things like prayer and scripture or FHE it is good to know that a few pearls are finding their way in.

My little Man

I can't believe that my little baby Logi is already 9.5 months old. He is such a cute, fun kid. He loves to crawl, climb, and try to do everything that Emma and Alan do. He now says "Mama," "Dada," "Emma," and "Yes" (no matter what question you ask him). He also loves to sit in his high chair and feed himself. I think that it's funny that with as much as he eats he is still so skinny (for a baby). Size 6-12 mos pants highwater on him and 12-18 mos pants fall off his little bum. He also has 6 teeth now.
Emma is always telling me that we are his two mommies and Alan always says "He's my cute baby."
Logan is such a wonderful addition to our family. His big toothy grin always makes us smile. And sometimes he is still just a cuddly little baby.

The Bug

Since coming home from Yellowstone we had to turn our attention to getting ready to move. Our new place is a lot smaller then where we are now, so we had a yard sale this weekend to get rid of a few thing. Be also gave the Queen bed in our spare room to Dan and Lesli. Dan came over on Thursday night to pick it up and when Scott came back in the back door he said "I just got attacked by a moth or something." and then he went back into the spare room. Moments later Scott started calling for me. I came to the door and there was this giant hissing bug attacking Scott. I started screaming but Scott just caught the bug and went to show it to Dan. Later that night I went to move the van and there was our little friend on the windshield wiper. It doesn't look as big in the picture, but when you realize that that is a windshild wiper it is on, you can see it is pretty big.
