Maybe it is because he is my baby or maybe it is because I was really enjoying not having a high chair in my dining room, but I really dragged my feet about starting Bryce on real food. So finally today I went and got the high chair out of storage and let Bryce have his first real taste of "solid" food.
So his first meal with the family was homemade mashed potatoes and he loved them. I was actually a little surprised by how much he ate. He kinda insisted on feeding himself, so I would load up the spoon and hand it to him and then he would put it in his mouth. He did a really good job.
Here he is saying hi while he eats his potatoes. He did start out with a baby spoon, but he stole mine and then I was rotating them so he would always have one ready and waiting.
And here is another cute picture of the kids before bed (Alan decided to run away as soon as I grabbed the camera). Emma is getting so good at taking care of Bryce. To my surprise I will often turn around to find that she has picked him up and they are all playing together. At times like that I try to remind her of the no kids picking up the baby policy in our house, but she really is just trying to take care of "her baby." It is so fun to see the kids with Bryce. He has just been so interactive from day one and now he can play little games with his brothers and sister and he thinks it is just about the funniest thing ever when one of them throws a fit.
