Thanksgiving Fun

This was a Hilton year for us, so we had Thanksgiving dinner with most of the Hiltons at Todd and Pam's house. There was a lot of good food and fun. I made yams and pumpkin cheese cake this year. YUM!

So much to be thankful for

I love thanksgiving. I love having a day that I can truly reflect and remember how much I have. I am truly blessed. Most of all I am grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints. Being a member of the church has given me so many choice blessings. The greatest of these being my Eternal marriage to Scott. I am so thankful for Scott. He is my best friend, true love, and partner in all things. I am thankful that he is such a wonderful, kind, and loving father. I am grateful that we have been blessed with 3 very wonderful Children. I am thankful that I have been blessed to have a sweet little Emma girl in my life. I am thankful for Alan and the happy, funny kid that he is. And I am thankful for my cute smiley little Logan. I have truly been blessed with wonderful family and friends. I am thankful the I life on the Earth in the time and place that I do. It live in America is truly something to be thankful for. I am thankful for all those who have sacrificed to keep America free. I am thankful for how easy my life is. Isn't is wonderful to have things like electricity, indoor pluming, cars, beds, washing machines, and the list goes on.
I don't think I could ever express how truly thankful I am for my life.

Tonight at dinner

Alan burped and then said "That means hiccup in Spanish." He later had an entire conversation with Emma about how to get "a pickle from a pickle jar. " Followed by him telling us that his juice tastes like buttermilk. Basically everything he says is funny. I wish I had a video camera on that kid 24/7 because it is not just what he says, but how he says it.
Later during FHE we were listing things that we are thankful for when Alan jumped off of the ottoman onto Scott and had to go sit on time out. When it was Alan's turn to say something he was thankful for, from over on timeout, Alan said "For getting off of timeout sometime." It was another moment that I wished I had the video camera out.

Crazy November

Wow November has been such a crazy month! We have had a lot of sickness and a lot of stuff going on, but I think we have turned the corner, and we're looking forward to this coming week. We are so blessed and have so much to be thankful for.
So by way of a quick catch up, the first week in November Alan got strep throat. The next week Logan went in for his 1 year well baby check-up. I know it was almost a month late, but I guess I am not super mom. He is doing great! He is in the 50th percentile for weight and the 90+ percentile for height. It is fun to have a light weight around for once. We are still hoping he will grow out of his soy allergy. Logan also got a bunch of shots. Poor baby. He then got a fever that night and by the next day he could barely breath. That night was a little scary. I took him to the doctor the next day and they said that he had croup. I think that he's allergic to something in the Polio vaccine because every time he get it, the next day he has croup. But no doctors will believe me about it.
Then this past week I have had a very sore throat and actually lost my voice for a few days.
The poor kids, I feel like we have been stuck in the house doing nothing for weeks. At least Emma has not been sick and has still been able to go to school.
In happy news, I joined the Pleasant Grove Rec Center this past week and I'm taking classes 4 night a week after we put the kids to bed. I started taking yoga and hip hop cardio. I really enjoy yoga. It is so nice to relax and stretch. The Hip Hop class was so fun. It was like my high school dance team all over again.
And finally, I am happy to report that I can see the light at the end of the holiday sewing projects tunnel. I finished a ton of skirts and stuff for my holiday E-bay auctions. It feels good to be almost done. All I have to do is get them all listed on Monday. Feel free to check them out and tell me what you think.
Emma has really gotten into Hannah Montana lately and she likes to play dress up and be a big girl. I can't complain about it too much because she think being like Hannah Montana means wearing two shirts and having her hair in a low off-to-the-side ponytail. Anyway, since I told her Hannah likes to model, she was nice enough to be a model for my auction listings. Here are a few of my favorites.

Fun with Food

Becky sent me an email about a contest being hosted on 5 Minutes for Mom called "Fun with Food" and the winner gets a $500 grocery card courtesy of Prego. So here is our entry.

It was a hard decision, but this has always been one of my favorite pictures of my two little buddies. They were playing their piano while eating cookies. What's more fun then that. Wow Alan boy was only 10 mos old then, time sure does fly. Emma and Alan are such cute buddies.

The Other Entry

The other entry: It was so hard to pick what picture to use for the Fun with food contest. This was the other picture I almost used. So what do you think? Did I make the wrong choice. The first Sunday after Thanksgiving we make a gingerbread house as a fun family thing to welcome in the Holiday season. Last year Scott and Emma decorated the gingerbread snowman, while I created the roof design with Logan in the Snugli and Alan enjoyed eating as much candy as he could get his hands on.

I came across this web site called photofunia.com. I had some fun playing around with some pictures.
Baby Alan the astronaut

Look at crying baby Logan

This one just made me laugh (doesn't he look like he is a prisoner in Azkaban?)

This one made me laugh even more (yes that is Alan's face)

And possibly this one made me laugh the most

I am such an awesome photographer I recently had a piece in an art exhibition

This is an ad for Alan's first CD
