Hair Blogs

I recently discovered hair blogs, and I have to say I am in love. I had been feeling a little uninspired lately when it came to Emma's hair, (espesically in the morning before school) so this past week I had been trying a new style a day from my two favorite hair blogs. http://cutegirlshairstyles.blogspot.com/ This first one is actually my favorite because her daughters and long thick hair like Emma and I feel like they are a little more big girl, but this one is great too. http://shedoeshair.blogspot.com/ . So here are a few of the styles we tried the past week. I am sure there are going to be a lot more interesting hairstyles in our future. I found that the key seems to be to look the night before so that when you have 15 mins to do her hair before running out the door you know what you are going to do and don't have to think about it.

This one is triangles, can you see them? Although the way I did it I think it looks more like diamond.

This is really just double french braids (Emma's all the time hair do), but I don't usually do the whole zigzag part.

This may be my new favorite hair style for Emma. I don't think the pictures I took are the best, but she looked so stinking cute all day.

I also cut about 4 inches off Emma's hair last Monday so if you are thinking it looks a little short in these pictures that is why. Ok so it still looks very long, but it really does feel a lot shorter to me when I am washing, combing and styling it. She was VERY mad at me about it. I am sure it will all grow back in a few months.

I am glad Emma is patient enough to let you do all that. You will find as she gets older you will get to do that less and less.

You are an amazing mom and let me tell you why: I see so many kids whose moms just don't see to it that their hair is clean and combed. It makes me sad! My mom always made sure her kids hair was clean and braided or curled or clipped-anthing but snarly and tangly. I'm sure most moms are just so overwhelmed with being a mom that the hair thing falls by the wayside at times and I'm not judging but I do think that you give kids a boost of confidence when they are cleaned up and dressed up to go out into the world. That is my two cents. I just thought this post was cool.
